August 17- A sixty-tonne processing machine 13m long, 3m wide and 3.4m is one of the latest heavy lift movements to utilise German handling equipment manufacturer Scheuerle's InterCombi PB (Power Booster) with shiftable drive axles.

The operation took place at Crailsheim, Germany at the Voith Turbo manufacturing facility.

The InterCombi PB can be operated as a self-propelled unit as well as coupled with other InterCombi platform trailers.

This assignment saw a 2 x 4-axle InterCombi PB in operation in the town of Pappenheim at the Riedl & Stöcker company where a 235 tonne injection moulding machine had to be moved from one production hall to the next. These operations had followed a six kilometre road transport test.

The InterCombi PB unit is simply coupled to conventional InterCombi axles and can be driven up to speeds of 80 km/h as a trailing unit on rough terrain as well as public roads and motorways. The vehicle can be used as a self-propelled transport unit, as a trailing unit coupled to other InterCombi platform trailers or also as an additional thrust machine while driving, for instance, on a critical incline.
