Independent firm to manage eight Saudi ports

June 2 - Reports in the international media indicate that Saudi Arabia is planning to create an independent firm that will manage the kingdom's eight ports under a gradual privatisation process.

The reports suggest that the authority has completed privatisation studies of the ports, which will lead to the inception of the independent managing entity, although no date was given for when this would be established.
