November 12 - Mumbai-based Indial Shipping has handled the import of a track-tamping locomotive for a large corporation in India.

The track-tamping locomotive, which had a total weight of 51 tonnes and volume of 185 cu m, was manufactured and patented by Plasser & Theurer, Austria and is to be used for the tamping and laying of railway tracks.

The locomotive was lifted and stowed under deck on combined flat racks engineered as a platform to take the weight of the cargo.

CMA CGM provided transportation support for the shipment, which was carried on CMA CGM Rossini from Antwerp to Mundra, Gujarat.
