La dolce vita as top Italian customer entrusts project cargoes to Ahlers Singapore

October 26 - Project cargo forwarder Ahlers Singapore has executed the transport and shipment of project and heavy lift cargoes ex Laem Chabang, Thailand to Apapa, Nigeria for a major Italian client.

The forwarder was involved from the very first stage of this shipment and has already worked on this project for nearly six months as the cargo's readiness kept changing.

The cargo was non-stackable and required under deck loading, which made the operation complicated. With help fromAhlers Antwerp agencies department, the Ahlers Chartering desk was able to offer different options to the customer.

The first consignment of 600 cu m of cargo was loaded onboard the Ocean Bird which is now enroute to Apapa. The second consignment, of about 420 cu m, including heavy lift pieces of 98 tonnes, was loaded on the Fairlift, also enroute to Apapa.

Meanwhile, the Ahlers Antwerp and Dubai offices have moved a shipment of piling equipment from the Netherlands toFujairah port

For this cargo, consisting of 508 cu m and weighing 157 tonnes, the shipment to Jebel Ali on Grand Orion was arranged by Ahlers Antwerp.

The shipment consisted of piling equipment and accessories necessary for the renovation and expansion of Fujairah port. Ahlers Dubai took care of hinterland transport from Jebel Ali to Fujairah with one low bed trailer and 11 additional standard trucks.
