July 8 - Marine logistics company, Peters & May, has shipped a Monte Fino from the Kha Shing yard in Taiwan to Newcastle, Australia.

At 37 metres long, the superyacht was the largest boat for which the Australian regional office of Peters & May has undertaken marine logistics.

The shipment of the high-value superyacht was complex with a four hour loading onto the cargo ship Cape Delfara. Prior to the load, many hours of planning were undertaken to ensure safe and secure transit. A 190 tonnes, the weight of the boat necessitated crane exemption certificates.

Dean Sharples, managing director of Peters & May Australia, says that the company is seeing a reduction in the import and export of boats in Australia, as well as increased competition from less experienced forwarders coming into the marine market offering discounts and incentives. He cautions against using non-specialist, non-proven logistic providers.

Peters & May has over 30 years experience in the provision of marine logistics and offers global boat transportation, freight forwarding and yacht racing logistics via air, road, rail and sea from a global network of twelve offices and numerous exclusive agencies.
