January 11 - BBC Chartering has opened a new office in London, UK.

"We continue to strengthen our position at important shipping hubs for breakbulk, heavy lift and project cargo," said BBC ceo Svend Andersen. "This move is a strategic decision and we are pleased that we can offer Maritime London a permanent point of contact to discuss business with us, too."

Headed up by Valeria Salanzo, who has transferred from BBC Chartering Genoa to take on the role of regional sales and chartering manager in London, the new branch will complement BBC's existing UK representative office in Liverpool.

Both BBC's UK offices are managed from the heavy lift shipping line's European hub and global headquartered in Leer, Germany.
