March 6 - Mammoet has been awarded a contract by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America (MHIA) to support a large polymer production plant expansion project on the US Gulf Coast in Texas.

According to Mammoet, the scope of work includes transporting several oversized and heavy pieces, including one piece weighing over 1 million lbs (453.6 tonnes), reaching 160 ft (48.7 m) in length and 30 ft (9.14 m) in diameter.

A portion of the transport services will include a 40 mile (64.37 km) road transport to the construction site.


Meanwhile, Mammoet has installed the last rotor of Ararat Wind Farm's 75 turbines in Victoria, Australia.

According to Mammoet, 61 of the 75 turbines are already commissioned and contributing to Victoria's supply of renewable energy, while the remainder of the project is due for completion by May, 2017.
