December 6 - Effective December 21, Genoa-based Ignazio Messina is starting a new fortnightly liner service between north Europe and Portugal, with regular calls at Antwerp, Belgium and Setubal, Portugal.

The service, which will be for containers and ro-ro units, with a particular focus on project cargo, will use three ro-ro sister ships, Jolly Bianco, Jolly Marrone and Jolly Rosso, all coming from West Africa.

The first sailing of the service will be performed by the Jolly Marrone from Antwerp on December 21, and from Setubal, Portugal on December 26, 2013.

understands that the entire Mediterranean area, Red Sea, Saudi Arabia, Middle East, Iran, East and South Africa, and Mozambique will be served via the Genoa hub.
