June 27 - According to a announcement from the Secretaria de Comunicaciones y Transportes, Mexico's transport and communications ministry is planning USD4.34 billion in infrastructure projects for the port sector.

HLPFI understands that projects include building two new ports, six port expansions, 12 specialised terminals, a cruise ship terminal and infrastructure for short-sea shipping.


Expansion of the Veracruz and Guaymas ports and construction of a cruise ship terminal in Puerto Vallart are claimed to be key projects.
