New German line signs up for 10 ships

March 21 - Zeaborn GmbH, a Bremen-based German shipping company established in 2013, has confirmed that it has signed a contract with a Chinese shipyard for the construction of ten multipurpose ships.

Zeaborn has confirmed that an order has been placed for ten 12,500 dwt MPVs at Taizhou Sanfu Shipbuilding with deliveries scheduled from the last quarter of 2015 through to 2017.

HLPFI understands that each ship will be equipped with two cranes, each with a 250-tonne capacity.

A Zeaborn spokesperson declined to confirm or deny media reports that a further contract had been signed with China's Sainty Marine for the construction of a further six ships, with the option for a further four, with deliveries scheduled from 2016 through to 2018.
