November 28 - OOS International and Jiangsu Fanzhou Shipping have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to form a strategic alliance and expand the coverage of their vessels globally.

The agreement was signed on November 21 by Jiang Juejie, general manager of Fanzhou, and Léon Overdulve, ceo of OOS International, in Nanjing, China.

OOS International operates a fleet of heavy lift accommodation semi-submersibles, while Fanzhou has a fleet of transport semi-submersibles, barges and marine vessels.

Together, both companies intend to grow their international businesses, says OOS. The collaboration enables Fanzhou to increase its exposure in Europe, the Americas and Mexico through OOS International's established presence, while OOS International will be able to extend its presence in Asia through Fanzhou.

The cooperation agreement involves the exclusivity of two vessels for OOS International, a 50,000-tonne semi-submersible heavy lift vessel and 20,000-tonne self-propelled barge (deck carrier), both currently under construction and to be delivered in 2018.
