AAPA is an alliance of leading ports in the Western Hemisphere. It is governed by a 57-member Board of Directors consisting of elected representatives of the corporate membership from each of the port regions. Payne will represent the U.S. South Atlantic port region.
"As CEO for one of the nation's major cargo handling ports and a long-respected member of the maritime community, Stan Payne has demonstrated great leadership. I know he'll be an excellent representative for the South Atlantic region and the entire port industry on AAPA's Executive Committee," said Kurt Nagle, AAPA's president and chief executive officer. "We're looking forward to 2013 when Port Canaveral hosts our association's annual convention, which is AAPA's top annual event and one that truly showcases the host port," he added.
