October 25 - First Global Logistics, member of the Project Cargo Network (PCN), has transported 16 out-of-gauge (OOG) units from Cairo, Egypt to Alger port in Algeria on behalf of Pimco Heavy Industries.

The cargoes, which included steam boilers, gear motors, large tanks, pipes and pump accessories, were transported from Cairo to Alexandria port by road.

First Global Logistics utilised six 40 ft OOG flatracks, a 40 ft open top container and four 40 ft high cube containers to transport the equipment from Alexandria to Alger onboard a Maersk Line container vessel.

Meanwhile, Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS) in the UAE has handled the demobilisation and shipping of construction equipment from Jebel Ali to La Havre, France and Casablanca in Morocco.

The cargo was secured on 40 ft flatracks and 20 ft open top containers.

CF&S, PCN member in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, has utilised its railway platforms, designed for project cargo, to transport 14 CAT and Komatsu machines from northern Europe to Mongolia, via Paldiski, Estonia.

Italian member, Fortune International Transport, and Belgian member, Europe Cargo, have transported 600 tonnes of pipes, measuring over 22 m in length, from Antwerp, Belgium to Bandar Abbas, Iran.

Fortune was responsible for the freight negotiations with the shipping line, while Europe Cargo handled the loading operations.
