March 9 - The Rhenus Group has taken over Swiss project logistics specialist KOG Worldwide.

Founded in 1981 by Jürgen Osmers and Rolf Gubler, the Zug-headquartered company has 21 branch offices in 18 countries worldwide.

KOG's operations will be merged with those of Rhenus Project Logistics, but the KOG brand will remain.

The focus of Rhenus' project logistics division will be on the construction of power plants and the heavy manufacturing industry, said Carsten Schröter, managing director of Rhenus Project Logistics.

"The integration of KOG Worldwide into the wide Rhenus Group is a development for our company," said KOG ceo Jürgen Osmers, who is based in the USA. "With our main centres in the USA, Switzerland and Japan, we serve the markets and businesses in which Rhenus' project logistics division is not so well presented."
