Rhenus Logistics, together with local partners in France, has taken over the management of the ports of Salaise-Sablons and Portes-Lès-Valence.
The two inland hubs are located in the Lyon region along the Rhône river. Rhenus Logistics said it plans to modernise the infrastructure and increase freight volumes on both the waterways and railways.
“Positioned along a strategic logistics corridor, these ports are essential assets for strengthening multimodal supply chains across Europe,” added Rhenus Logistics.
Last month, Rhenus partnered with Enercon to develop a push barge for the transport of wind turbine components.
