February 20 - Blue Water Singapore has coordinated the transport of an 8,500-tonne jack-up rig from Brazil to a shipyard in Indonesia.

The rig was floated onboard Coscol's semi-submersible vessel Xiang Rui Kou with the help of three tug boats, before being shipped to Batam Island.

Florian Pinz, project chartering manager at Blue Water Singapore, explained Xiang Rui Kou had to berth at a small shipyard to load six leg sections before the float-on operation could begin.

"The berthing conditions were challenging due to an obstructed quay, but the leg sections were loaded safely on board by a shore-based crawler crane that had just enough outreach," said Pinz.
