October 26 - Scrabster Harbour Trust (SHT) is proposing to redevelop and upgrade a major pier within the harbour to provide additional deepwater berthing facilities to meet growing demand from the Atlantic Frontier and the expected development of the Pent

The project would create improved a heavy lift quayside capability, with improved water depths within the navigational approach channel and is set to create a modern supply base and enable the port to offer the same range of supplies as found in the more distant Scottish east coast ports. The target for managers is to provide 24 hour access to the facilities. Improved berthing facilities, increased lay down and open storage areas are to be included in the development.

One of the targets of the work would be supporting the development of the marine renewables energy industry in thePentland Firth/North Atlantic.
