Swan Defence and Heavy Industries Limited (SDHI) has entered into a strategic alliance with Wheel & Time Shipping Transport Logistics.
Formerly Reliance Naval Engineering, SDHI said the alliance has been signed in order to launch the fabrication, assembly, storage, and transport (FAST) concept to the heavy engineering industry. SDHI’s shipyard at Pipavav, India, will serve as an advanced fabrication, assembly, and storage hub, while Wheel & Time leverages its robust logistics network to deliver turnkey solutions to heavy engineering companies worldwide.
SDHI is one of India’s largest shipbuilding and heavy fabrication companies. Spread over 600 acres (242.8 ha) with 1.2 km of developed waterfront, SDHI shipyard has one of India’s largest drydocks with a capacity to fabricate and assemble large structures. The shipyard has advanced CNC and robotic systems for cutting steel, while benefitting from hydraulic presses that can handle up to 1,600 tonnes for precise manufacturing. The facility also provides the capabilities to make large sections and offers specialised equipment for lifting heavy items.
Gautamraj Sharma, managing director at Wheel & Time, said this integration streamlines the entire supply chain process while enabling companies to design, produce, and distribute their products globally – all from an optimal central location that connects APAC, EMEA, and AMER regions. “We are elated to partner with SDHI.
