Subsea 7’s heavy lift vessel Seaway Alfa Lift is in transit to Europe, ready to join Seaway 7’s fleet in the third quarter of 2023.

Seaway Alfa Lift on route to Europe

The vessel is planned to be deployed on the Dogger Bank A, B and C wind farm projects in the UK, executing transition piece installation work from 2023 to 2025. Monopile installation during that period will continue with Seaway Strashnov.

Seaway Alfa Lift is a 51,000 dwt semi-submersible installation vessel of Ulstein design. It features a 3,000-tonne capacity main crane and a 10,000 sq m open deck.

Meanwhile, the construction of Seaway Ventus – a heavy-duty jack-up vessel suitable for turbine and monopile installation – remains on track. The steel-cutting ceremony for that vessel took place at the China Merchants Heavy Industry (CMHI) facility in Jiangsu, China, during November 2021, as HLPFI reported here.

The GustoMSC NG-14000XL-G jack-up is slated to join the fleet this year.
