Crowley Maritime Corporation has taken delivery of its con-ro vessel Taíno, the last in a series of two vessels from shipbuilder VT Halter Marine.

Taíno will soon join its sister ship El Coquí, which was christened in October, as HLPFI reported here.

The Commitment class, LNG-powered con-ro vessels were built specifically for the Puerto Rico trade and measure 219.5 m in length. The vessels will be able to transport up to 2,400 teu as well, as a mix of approximately 400 cars and larger vehicles in an enclosed, weather-tight ro-ro decks.
