Bloemgracht is the second in a series of two DP2 B-type vessels. Its sistership Brouwersgracht was christened in Amsterdam earlier this year. The ships combine the capabilities of an ice-strengthened multipurpose vessel with a DP2 system, which makes them suitable for offshore delivery of large volumes and heavy cargoes.

Sailing under the Dutch flag, they are equipped with two Huisman 500-tonne capacity heavy lift mast cranes and feature an automated crane system, specially developed for the loading and unloading of pipes.

According to Spliethoff, Bloemgracht has already performed its maiden voyage and in the coming months will be deployed on a major Australian project, delivering pipes offshore for a pipeline.
