October 30 - Coordinadora has awarded Almajdouie Logistics Company the challenging assignment of moving heavy and abnormal units from Jubail Industrial Port to the Sadara Petrochemical Company in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.

Almajdouie moved ten heavy and oversize columns to the Sadara site: the heaviest of which weighed 601 tonnes; the longest measuring 76 m; the widest at 8.5 m wide; and the highest of which was 8.3 m tall.

The vessel called at Jubail Industrial Port to discharge five of the longest and heaviest units, before moving to Jubail Commercial Port on the country's east coast to discharge the rest of the units.

All units were unloaded onto trailers using the vessel's onboard cranes and placed on stools inside the respective ports for Customs clearance. The cargo was then transported to Almajdouie's nearby laydown area.

Seven units have now been safely transported to the jobsite and the rest shall be delivered in due time, as per the schedule given by EPC contractor Tecnicas Reunidas.

Almajdouie's general manager of heavy lift, Humayun Mirza, commented on the scale of the project: "This operation was not easy, considering the dimensions, it was essential to obtain required permits from the authorities and to remove multiple obstacles during the haulage."
