Now operating under Wilson Ship Management, the 2008-built vessel has been trading for the Norwegian shipping company on time charter since hitting the water. Wilson said: “She is now preparing for trade after changing ownership, management and flag.”

Wilson has been progressively expanding its fleet of owned vessels. Earlier this month it purchased 11 general cargo vessels from Arkon Shipping; the company had previously operated vessels from Arkon on a time charter as a result of a partnership agreement announced in May 2020.

The vessels include: Wilson Dublin, Wilson Davanger, Wilson Drammen, Wilson Drogheda, Wilson Dundee, Wilson Dunmore, Wilson Dusavik, Wilson Durness, Wilson Halsvik, Wilson Hanstholm and Wilson Horten.

The partnership with Arkon continues, said Wilson, which added: “In a strong market situation, it is important for us to purchase and secure the tonnage on good and long-term conditions. We therefore consider the transaction favourable in the current market situation and it underpins our long-term belief in the market.”

Out of the 130 vessels in Wilson’s fleet, approximately 110 are owned by the company.
