Al Madina joins WWPC

January 23 - Al Madina Logistics Services, which is based in Muscat, Oman has been appointed as exclusive member for the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) in Oman.

Al Madina delivers complete logistical solutions for Omani importers and project cargo owners.

It has its own large fleet of equipment and a newly constructed warehouse.

That fleet includes 67 prime movers, as well as 94 flat, skeleton and low bed trailers,

Commenting on the new member, Wolfgang Karau says that Al Madina Logistics' assets and professional approach will be of great use to fellow members of the WWPC seeking to capitalise on the opportunities offered by the Omani marketplace.

In Oman, since January 1, 2012, there is a new customs regulation in place. Only companies with a customs clearance licence which are 100 percent Omani-owned will be allowed to undertake customs procedures. WWPC says the objective of this move by the government was to develop a greater Omani presence in the country's logistics trade, adding that this gives Al Madina Logistics Services an edge over competitors in securing contracts for onshore project logistics services.
