Finnish heavylift handler group expands by acquisition

November 18 - Havator Group has acquired 100 percent of heavylift handler and crane operator BinSell i Uppsala to strengthen its operations in the Stockholm area.

The Uppsala-based company has a turnover of around USD 11.5 million, employs 50 people and has 22 cranes offering 23 to 300 tonnes lifting capacity.

The Greater Stockholm area is one of the priority areas for developing Havator's operations in Sweden. In August, Havator signed a contract of USD6 million with Betongmästarna i Sverige for the installation of the concrete structures of the Stockholmsarena. Havator will be installing the structural sections, roof sections, beams, arched structures and the outer wall sections of the new arena. The total number of sections in this project is approximately 20,000. This project builds on Havator and BinSell's previous 
experience of collaboration in arena projects.

Havator Group is a business group with operations that involve crane services, special transport, section assembly and harbour crane services; Havator Cranes offers lifting services; Havator Transport focuses on special and heavy transports; Havator Montage is a specialist in section assembly; and, Polar Lift in harbour crane services.
