Global Cargo Line joins PCN

July 26 - The Project Cargo Network (PCN) welcomes Global Cargo Line as a representative in the Lebanon.

The Beirut-based company, which has an office in Damascus, specialises in handling vehicles transport, heavy industrial and agricultural machineries, power station and transformers.

Global Cargo Line uses the most advanced security techniques to arrange transportation of boats and oversized shipments of all sizes - both out-of-gauge and in-gauge from any port in the world. Global Cargo Line has extensive experience in this sector, and have worked on the railways of Iraq, an electrical station in Lebanon. The company also a specialist in project cargo/dangerous goods from Egypt and from Iraq, and has experience in perishable cargo handling and packing. Development manager Jad El Badawi says: "We joined PCN as we currently have several opportunities to develop regarding big projects and heavy consignments."

The Lebanese Economic Organization recently urged the government to fast-track plans that would permit the private sector to participate more fully in the country's projects. In a statement issued in June 2012, the group said there were a number of gains to be made from adopting the PPP model it had recommended for infrastructure developments. Introducing PPPs in infrastructure projects may well stimulate the construction industry and lead to a reduction in delays.
