Japanese heavy lifting and transport specialist Denzai, through its group company Denzai International Projects, has completed 19 heavy lift operations at the Indorama 3 fertiliser production plant project in Port Harcourt, Nigeria – the company’s first project in Africa.
Denzai International Projects provided technical planning, dispatched crane operators and leased a 1,350-tonne capacity LR11350 crawler crane for the plant construction on behalf of its client Daewoo E&C Nigeria, a subsidiary of Daewoo Engineering & Construction.
During the three-month contract period, Denzai performed seven lifts in the ammonia area and 12 in the urea area, with a combined total weight of 4,350 tonnes.
Jeong Won Seo, director at Denzai International Projects, said: “Working on the Indorama 3 project was both a technical and logistical challenge, but one we were proud to take on. From planning through execution, our team worked to ensure every lift was performed safely and efficiently.”
Denzai has been expanding its international footprint in recent years, most recently forming a strategic partnership with Italy’s Fagioli to collaborate on heavy lifting and heavy transport projects worldwide as well as establishing a Ukrainian operation.
