India's UGL to acquire LANS

March 30 - India's Unique Global Logistics (UGL) is to acquire Mumbai-based LANS Projects Pvt Ltd in a bid to increase its share of the wind energy and oil and gas sectors.

Pavithran M Kallada, managing director of UGL, described the takeover as a "strategic investment" which would enable his company to benefit from the specialist fleet of vehicles owned by LANS.

"With this acquisition, we will continue to build our capabilities in the Indian project logistics sector and expand into the most demanding industry verticals," he said.

"We will now be able to provide services that benefit and add value to our customers as well as shareholders."

Kallada said the sale would be concluded within the next few months.
