July 18 - Argentinian crane rental company Gruas Londres has taken delivery of a 200-tonne capacity Liebherr LTM 1200-5.1 mobile crane.

According to the crane manufacturer, rising demand for crane work in the petrochemicals industry prompted Gruas Londres' investment in the machine, which has a 72 m telescopic boom and is equipped with Liebherr's variable support base.

Gruas Londres managing director Alberto Szakalicki commented: "The LTM 1200-5.1 expands the capacity of our crane fleet significantly upwards so that we can now handle work which was previously not possible.

"The Liebherr five-axle crane is very manoeuvrable and therefore perfect for the constricted conditions we find in petrochemical plants."

In addition to the 72 m boom, Gruas Londres also ordered a 36 m lattice jib for the crane, which will be employed in the construction and maintenance of refineries and chemical plants across the South American nation.
