MIQ strengthens Latin presence

February 3 - MIQ Logistics has purchased assets in Miami, Florida based Alfa Logistics and Colombia's Kronos Logistics.

MIQ says that the acquisitions enable it to expand its specialised service offering with complementary capabilities in the Latin America region. Details of the transactions were not disclosed.

"The Alfa Logistics and Kronos Logistics acquisitions are strategically well-suited for MIQ Logistics. They strengthen our expertise and scale in important regions of the world and their people share our values," said John Carr, president and ceo of MIQ.

The management teams of both Alfa and Kronos will remain in place, confirmed Carr, and customers will experience a "smooth transition in the handling of their accounts".
