BBC delivers Rio module

August 1 - BBC Chartering has shipped a 1,380-tonne modular accommodation unit from Dalian in China to Rio de Janeiro, on board the BBC Sapphire.

The four-storey module is the first of six that BBC Chartering will deliver to Brazil on behalf of oil and gas major Petrobras, which is currently converting four oil tankers into FPSOs.

BBC safely transported the first module for the P-67 FPSO, which when completed will be mobilised to the Lula Norte oil field, offshore Brazil.

Due to the sheer size of the accommodation block, BBC Chartering used floating cranes to load and discharge the module.
