November 14 - A container block train comprising 50 standard 40 ft containers has travelled from Wuhan in Central China to Pardubice, about 100 km east of the Czech capital Prague, in just 16 days.

CRIMT (China Railway Intermodal Transport) had dispatched the train on October 24, 2012 filled with computer parts on a route from China via Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus and Poland to the Czech Republic.

Howard Lamb, ceo of project partner the InterRail Group, underlined the significance the operation had for the opening of a 'New Silk Road' between China and Europe, noting that the average speed of the train was 700 km per day.
