August 1 - Aqualis Offshore has been contracted by Noble Corporation to oversee the load-on, transportation and load-off operations for the first journey of the jack-up rig, Noble Lloyd Noble.

Aqualis' scope of work includes providing marine warranty services for the load-on, transportation and load-off operations of the giant jack-up, while a team will also accompany the vessel on the first leg of its journey from Singapore to Port Elizabeth, South Africa.

The rig's ultimate destination is Statoil's Mariner field development in the UK sector of the North Sea.

Built by Sembcorp Marine for Noble Corporation, the jack-up rig - which is claimed to be the world's largest - is capable of operating in a water depth of up to 150 m in harsh environmental conditions.
