Base in multiple valve move

December 12 - Italian freight forwarder, Base S.p.A, has been awarded the contract to move 576 valves from China to southern Iraq via Italy, for use in the Rumaila oilfield development project.

The cargo, which has a total weight of about 380 tonnes, was manufactured in China before being shipped to Italy in 44 40 ft dry vans, where Base handled the import as well as the strict Customs and permit regulations.

The valves are now being transported to the Rumaila oilfield in Iraq, which is spread over a 1,200 sq km area and accounts for 12 percent of Iraq's oil reserves.

Base S.p.A is a member of the Project Cargo Network (PCN) representing Italy.
