February 13 - Bollor

Bolloré will transport 27 wind turbines a distance of 748 km from the port of Mombasa to Ntubiri in Meru County, on behalf of construction contractor Bluesea Energy.
Each turbine tower measures 4.6 m in diameter. The nacelles each weigh 52 tonnes, while a single blade measures 23.2 m long. The project is expected to commence in February 2015.

This development is the first in a series of similar projects that Bluesea Energy will undertake in the region. The company aims to produce a total of 200 MW of wind power, of which 100 MW will be produced by the plant in the Meru/Isiolo area, and an additional 100 MW from the Lambwe Valley in South Nyanza by 2018.
