March 25 - DB Schenker in the Philippines has inaugurated a new central facility in Manila which offers, next to its 5,000 sq m open yard, an area dedicated to project logistics, say managers.

Three units that had previously been located in Metro Manila are now located in a central complex in the Sabrina Compound in Sucat/Paranaque City. The new facility provides office space for the corporate office and accommodates air and ocean freight teams, Customs clearance, special projects and contract logistics. A total of around 450 employees are based at the new location.

Reiner Allgeier, managing director, Schenker Philippines, says: "The new facility will allow us to deliver even more punctually than before and further improve our service quality."

Environmental aspects were taken into account during the construction of the new facility and DB Schenker is the first logistics provider to use a new paint for its facility that converts air pollutants such as nitrogen and sulphur oxides into safe compounds using a catalytic process
