July 20 - The support given by the US Gulf coast port of Corpus Christi for vital industry training has been acknowledged by a leading global project cargo organisation.

The port is to be a sponsor of the Project Professionals Group's (PPG) two-day training programme being run as part of the education component for attendees at the 21st annual JoC Breakbulk Americas transportation conference and exhibition in Houston, from October 12-15. PPG is offering a certificate of achievement in project cargo management at the conference.

PPG general manager Kevin Stephens said: "The Port of Corpus Christi is to be congratulated for supporting much-needed industry training that is designed to help meet the skills shortfall for experienced project cargo managers around the world. Improving training and education in the project cargo sector is in everyone's best interest from clients to international freight forwarders and their transportation partners."

Further information about the education course, including registration is available from the Breakbulk Americas event site at www.joc.com/events or via the education course link at www.ppgprojects.com
