June 3 - Oil and gas services company ASCO Group has appointed Matt Thomas its chief executive officer Australasia region, effective June 3, 2013.
Thomas joins from inspection and certification company SGS, where he held the position of senior vice president minerals for its North American region. Thomas has also held senior positions across the Australasia and Asia-Pacific region with Coffey International, NACCO Minerals and BOOM Logistics.
Thomas will be based at ASCO Group's Perth office in Western Australia. The company also has a base in Darwin, as well as a freight logistics hub in Singapore. In 2012, ASCO was awarded a contract by Australia's Northern Territory government to build and operate an AUD110 million (USD106.2 million) marine supply base in Darwin, which will be commissioned at the end of 2013.
