Hamburg-based shipowner Bertram Rickmers has passed away at the age of 71, having succumbed to injuries as a result of a fall.
Reports from the German press outlet Das Bild state that Bertram passed after suffering serious injuries as a result of falling down a flight of stairs.
HLPFI expresses its condolences to Bertram’s wife, three children, and five grandchildren.
A true shipping man, Bertram was chairman of Rickmers Holding, parent of Rickmers-Linie, until its insolvency in 2017. Most recently, he founded Asian Spirit Steamship Company (ASSC) with son Rickmer Clasen Rickmers.
