Pentagon acquired Carlbom Shipping last year, as HLPFI reported here. The deal expanded Pentagon’s ship agency services for clients in the tanker, bulk cargo, offshore and renewables sectors, particularly in the UK’s Humber estuary.

Recently, Carlbom was appointed to handle agency work for the arrival of the jack-up vessel Voltaire at the port of Able Seaton as it prepared to commence work at Dogger Bank wind farm phases A, B and C. Measuring 182 m long and 60 m wide, the vessel will transport and install a total of 277 GE Haliade-X turbines.

The rebranding of Carlbom signals a closer alignment of the ship agency business with the Pentagon brand. It also enables Pentagon to offer enhanced one-stop solutions to all its clients. These now include traditional ships agency, international logistics, warehousing, multimodal transport, Customs brokerage, and information management.

All of these services will now be offered under a single unified banner in the UK, which includes Pentagon Freight Services, Pentagon Transport, and Pentagon Marine.
