DHL strengthens network in Middle East and Africa

DHL Industrial Projects is opening a centre of excellence (COE) in Dubai as well as offices in Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya and Turkey to coordinate complex logistics projects in the Middle East and Africa.

The establishment of the COE follows the growth of industrial projects in the Middle East and Africa, said DHL.

The Dubai COE will oversee and coordinate complex projects. Teams in Ethiopia and Kenya will predominantly work with the Dubai entity to manage projects out of sub-Saharan Africa; the location in Egypt will specialise in airfreight chartering and projects for North Africa; while the Turkish competency centre will coordinate ocean freight requirements and handle projects across Iraq and Central Asia.
