July 8 - The air freight division of UAE based Emirates Airline, Emirates SkyCargo, will add Stockholm, Sweden to its global network effective September 4, 2013.

The Swedish capital will be served by a daily B777-300 ER service from Dubai, providing a weekly cargo capacity of 322 tonnes. It is the 34th destination to join the Emirates SkyCargo freighter network, following on from the addition of Warsaw earlier this year. Emirates SkyCargo expects strong demand for construction equipment and other commodities on the new service.

The carrier already operates a twice-weekly freighter service between its UAE hub and Gothenburg. The addition of Stockholm is expected to further boost the airline's cargo operations in the country, according to the carrier.

"We see great cargo potential in Stockholm which will play a vital role in stimulating economic growth with key Swedish trading cities across the Far East and Australasia," said Robert Siegel, vp cargo commercial operations for Europe and Americas.
