As Esgian founder Erland Peter Bassøe moves into a full-time role as ceo of OceanX Energy, Esgian has restructured its executive team.
Having joined Esgian nearly a year ago, Gustav Heiberg takes up the role of ceo, with Sofia Forestieri – previously a senior analyst at Esgian – becoming senior vice president offshore. A technical lead at Esgian beforehand, Gudbrand Schistad steps into the role of chief technology officer, whilst Jens Petter Hamang remains chief operating officer after more than five years in the role.
These changes come as Esgian founder Erland Peter Bassøe moves into a full-time role as ceo of OceanX Energy, a company that is being spun out from Esgian
“This new executive team represents a new generation of leaders ready to lift Esgian’s technology strategy and strengthen our position at the forefront of ocean intelligence,” said Bassøe, who will continue as a shareholder and board member. “In Gustav Heiberg, we have a proven leader with deep roots in the shipping and energy industries and the global markets.”
