An Italian trade union has called a general strike for December 12, lasting the entire day and likely to affect the transport and logistics sector.

According to Gruber Logistics, the Confederazione Generale Italiana del Lavoro (CGIL) strike may cause disruption to transport, distribution, and the receipt of goods. It added that rallies and demonstrations are also expected in main Italian cities in connection with protests against the latest budget law, which may impact traffic conditions.

“As it is not possible to predict the exact impact of the strike, delays in the usual vehicle schedules may occur, resulting in changes to arrival times and potential adjustments to regular transit times,” said the freight forwarder.
