Lifting and moving equipment hire company Lifting Gear Hire (LGH) has opened its first dedicated location in France, in Dreux.

Led by LGH foreman Koffi Ahawo, the Dreux facility features a fully equipped warehouse boasting a range of rental equipment. This includes hoists with a capacity up to 100 tonnes; gantries; hydraulic jacking equipment; rigging gear such as slings and modular spreader beams; and general material handling and moving systems.
LGH has cited faster access to lifting equipment for local contractors and industrial clients – for sectors such as infrastructure, ports, energy and construction – as the main driver behind the launch of LGH France. The company is also a member of the Union Française du Levage, which represents the interests of French companies in the lifting sector.
“France offers strong opportunities in infrastructure, ports, and energy – especially in the transition to solar and wind power – where quality service and dependable equipment are essential,” said Andy Mault, ceo of LGH Europe. “Having already supported French projects from our Antwerp base, this local presence allows us to deliver expert lifting solutions with faster delivery, broader equipment availability, and dedicated local service.”
LGH has long-term French partners – including Kito Crosby, Modulift, Tractel and JD Neuhaus – which it will look to leverage, with its Dreux facility deemed a launchpad for further expansion across Europe in the coming years.
Earlier this year, LGH launched in Australia.
