LOC wins Tengiz contract

December 11 - International marine and engineering consultancy LOC Group, has been appointed to provide marine warranty services (MWS) for Tengizchevroil's future growth project-wellhead pressure management project.

LOC is providing both MWS and consultancy services for the project, which is the next major expansion of the Tengiz oil field, utilising the its experience in marine advisory services for modular transport, specifically for heavy lifts on mid and downstream projects and large energy construction projects.

LOC's support for the project is expected to continue for another three years with a core team of 10-15 LOC professionals. According to LOC, extra resources will support the project depending on the skills and geographical requirements.

While LOC has provided similar expert services for Chevron's Gorgon gas project in Australia and Total's Yamal LNG project in the Russian Arctic, the company says  the Tengizchevroil project is on a much larger scale.
