Japan’s Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) has detailed a restructuring plan that will be implemented on April 1, 2020.

As part of the restructuring, MOL has created new senior roles, including a chief digital officer and chief environment and sustainability officer.

The shipping company is establishing an offshore gas project division that will focus on LNG-related activities. According to MOL, this division will undertake work in crude oil fields such as FPSO projects and shuttle tanker projects, as well as the subsea support vessel business.

MOL is also renaming its steaming coal and energy project division to reflect the integration of its offshore wind power projects. Now called the steaming coal and renewable energy project division, the business unit strengthens the company’s commitment to environmental and emission-free activities, said MOL.
