The project division of ISS Global Forwarding (ISSGF) India has delivered 450 freight tons of project cargo – including two transformers – from Shanghai, China, to the port of Manzanillo, Mexico.
The shipment was made up of two 230 kV transformers, which measured 6.45 m x 3.75 m x 4.35 m each and weighed 104 tonnes apiece. Factoring in accessories, the shipment totalled at 428 cu m and 253 tonnes.
“The key challenge was sourcing a suitable vessel on short notice and ensuring delivery from load port to destination within just 45 days,” said an ISSGF spokesperson. “Through consistent coordination with the carrier and proactive communication, we achieved timely delivery in line with our committed schedule.”
Loading was completed within the projected two days.
