June 28 - Washington, USA based Port of Everett has appointed John Carter its new chief financial officer, filling the post left open by the retirement of Karen Clements.

Carter will report directly to the port's executive director John Mohr. He will be responsible for Port of Everett's USD56 million-plus capital and operating budgets, investment portfolios, risk management, bond assurance and overseeing IT. Carter will also participate in union negotiations, lead staff efforts for the state and federal audits, and manage the Port's industrial development corporation.
 
Most recently, Carter served a five-year term as director of finance of the city of Bellingham, Washington.
