Stian Omli has been promoted to senior vice president shipping at Norway-based service performance and benchmarking analyst Esgian.
Omli, formerly of Höegh Autoliners, joined Esgian during 2022 to set up the shipping department, joining the company’s offshore rigs and offshore wind energy products. Omli and the team worked with Hesnes Shipping to launch a commercial and sustainability benchmarking tool for the ro-ro industry.
As HLPFI previously reported, Esgian also has the multipurpose shipping sector in its sights. It has teamed up with shipbroker and market analyst Toepfer Transport to roll out a multipurpose module that will deliver similar insights on the multipurpose and heavy lift shipping sector.
Toepfer will assist in mapping 1,400-plus ships to more than 60 shipping lines. This should enable users to gain insight at both a company and vessel level.
